The trade war with the US will only make China stronger and will never bring the country to its knees, the Communist Party’s People’s Daily wrote in a front page commentary on Friday, according to Reuters news.
Trade tensions escalated earlier this month after Trump hiked tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods from 10% to 25% and threatened to impose tariffs on additional goods.
China, in retaliation, taxed $60 billion of US goods, reviving the tit-for-trade war.
Tensions worsened this week after the Trump administration added China’s Huawei Technologies Co Ltd to a trade blacklist.
