White House delays decision on whether to impose tariffs on European and Japanese cars

Ahead of the May 18 deadline, White House in an official statement announced that President Donald Trump is delaying a decision by up to six months on whether to impose import tariffs on cars with the aim to have more time for trade negotiations with Japan and the EU.

Nevertheless, the market reaction to this announcement was relatively muted with investors already expecting this decision following the leaked information earlier this week.
