US: Nonfarm payrolls increased 75K vs. 185K expected

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday reported that nonfarm payrolls in May increased by 75,000 following April’s reading of +263,000 and missed the market expectation of 185,000 by a wide margin. With the initial reaction, the US Dollar Index slumped to 96.80.
