UK PM Johnson could ease lockdown before May 7 deadline

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce an easing of month-long coronavirus lockdown as early as this week, according to The Telegraph.

Johnson is reportedly considering “modifying” the lockdown rater than lifting it and has discussed that with ministers.

The UK has so far registered 20,732 coronavirus related deaths. GBP/USD is trading near 1.2380 at press time, representing marginal gains on the day.
