The European Commission is ready to react with new economic measures, if necessary, in the face of the sudden pick-up in coronavirus infections in Europe, the newly appointed Trade Commissioner and the Commission’s Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis told a daily on Wednesday.
He added that the new surge in COVID-19 cases in Europe and new restrictive measures will “certainly have an effect” on the autumn economic forecast.
