According to the Financial Times (FT), the UK has signed an agreement with Japan. That’s UK’s first big post-Brexit deal.
The agreement was signed in Tokyo’s Friday morning by Liz Truss, the UK’s international trade secretary, in the presence of Toshimitsu Motegi, the Japanese foreign minister.
“Japan welcomes UK’s interest in joining the TPP trade deal and will provide the necessary support,” Japan’s Foreign Minister Motegi said.
So far, the news has not had any impact on the GBP pairs. At press time, GBP/USD is trading at 1.3070, representing marginal losses on the day.
