EU’s Barnier won’t update EU envoys on Friday due to intensive negotiations

The planned update by the European Unions’s (EU) chief negotiator Michel Barnier to the national EU envoys will not be taking place on Friday due to the ongoing intensive negotiations, a European Commission spokesman said, per Reuters.

Market reaction

These comments don’t seem to be having a significant impact on market sentiment. As of writing, the UK’s FTSE 100 Index was up nearly 1% on a daily basis at 6,553. Meanwhile, the GBP/USD pair is clinging to modest daily gains at 1.3460.
