The Deutsche Bundesbank, the central bank of the Federal Republic of Germany released its latest projections for the German economy this Friday and lowered its 2018 GDP growth forecast to 1.5% from 2.0% seen in June, and to 1.6% for 2019 from 1.9% prior.

“¢ Sees 2020 GDP growth at 1.6% vs 1.6% seen in June and at 1.5% in 2021.
“¢ Sees 2019 inflation at 1.4% in Germany vs 1.7% seen in June.
“¢ Sees 2020 inflation at 1.8% vs 1.8% seen in June and at 1.8% in 2021.
“¢ Downside risks predominantly for growth and to a lesser extent for inflation.
