According to the latest figures from the US, COVID-19 hospitalizations in Texas increased by 8.0% to 4,739 vs 4,389 on Wednesday.
Furthermore, after rising by 5.3% yesterday, the confirmed number of cases in Florida increased by 4.6%, or 5,004, on Thursday. This reading came in higher than the seven-day average of 4%.
Market reaction
Wall Street’s main indexes largely ignored these data. As of writing, the S&P 500 was down 0.23% on the day while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was losing 0.2% at 25,400 points. On the other hand, the Nasdaq Composite is up 0.15%.
