Coronavirus update: Victoria reports 30 new infections on Friday

Victoria records 30 new COVID-19 cases this Friday, ticking down slightly after reporting the largest number in two months on Thursday.

Of the 30, 5 are hotel quarantined, 7 linked to known outbreaks, 5 routine testings and 13 are under investigation.

The rise marks the tenth straight day of double-digit case number growth in the state.

On Thursday, Australia’s Defense Minister Linda Reynolds announced that they were deploying 1000 additional defense officers to Melbourne to assist with the state’s soaring new infections.
