La Stampa, Italy”s daily newspaper, reports the latest headlines on the Italian budget issue, citing that nation’s PMI Conte is said to be ‘optimistic’ that 2.2% budget deficit can avoid EU procedures.

Conte is seeking to cut the budget deficit to 2.2%, La Stampa adds.
