As smartphones are becoming more and more popular, so are forex trading applications. Metaquotes, which makes the popular MetaTrader platform, announces the launch of an Android application.
The app supports 570 servers of brokers and has the same wide functionality as the iPhone application launched recently.
It will be interesting to see if other providers will also enhance mobile support, and if the next versions will be seen first on Android before iOS. Facebook recently launched an Android version for its social network before launching the same upgrades for Apple’s iOS.
Here are more details about the launch, from the official press release:
MetaTrader 4 Trading Platform Now Available for Android Users
Limassol, Cyprus – April 17, 2012 – MetaQuotes Software Corp. today announced that MetaTrader 4, a mobile version of its popular trading platform, is now available for Android users. Supporting 570 servers of brokerage companies, MetaTrader 4 for Android makes it easy to select a broker for trading. With the MetaTrader app, all Android users can trade, analyze the market using charts, watch quotes around the clock and examine the history of performed deals. All these options are available for free after downloading the application from Google Play. The application has native support for tablet PCs, meaning tablet PC users will get the internet trading application adapted specifically for their devices.
“With the release of the MetaTrader 4 trading platform for iOS and Android we cover 70 percent of the total number of smartphone users but we are not going to stop and relax at this stage,” says Gaies Chreis, COO of MetaQuotes Software Corp. “We believe that mobile trading will be extremely popular in the nearest future. Therefore, we pay close attention to the evolution of other mobile operating systems. It is quite possible that the application for Windows Phone will also be released this year. Of course, we continue the development of the already released iOS and Android apps. We have really big plans and the work is going on at full speed.”Get the 5 most predictable currency pairs
