In an interview with Mexican radio, Mexican Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo said that the new trade agreement between Mexico, the U.S. and Canada “could be coming into effect in the second part of 2019,” as reported by Reuters.
Commenting on the new USCMA trade pact, “While the new US, Mexico and Canada trade deal does not directly affect the American dispute with China it underlines how difficult it is to replace access to US markets. With China’s manufacturing sector headed toward contraction President Xi may be running out of options,” FXStreet Senior Analyst Joseph Trevisani said.
