US: FHFA Housing Price Index rises 0.2% in July to match market expectation

“U.S. house prices rose in July, up 0.2 percent from the previous month, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) seasonally adjusted monthly House Price Index (HPI),”  the Federal Housing Finance Agency reported today.

  • The previously reported 0.2 percent increase in June was revised upward to 0.3  percent.
  • From July 2017 to July 2018, house prices were up 6.4 percent.
  • For the nine census divisions, seasonally adjusted monthly price changes from June 2018 to July 2018 ranged from -0.5 percent in the East South Central division to +1.1 percent in the South Atlantic division.
