US Treasury official sees Italy better off in Eurozone – Reuters

A senior US Treasury official was reported by Reuters late-Tuesday, as saying that the US Treasury believes Italy is better-off among other euro-zone countries to work out their issues without a Euro-exit as an option.

Key Quotes:

“It would be better if they were to work things out within the euro zone without making significant changes there, and certainly the Italians have the opportunity to do that,”

“It was unclear who would be representing Italy at the G7 finance ministers and central bank governors’ meeting on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Whistler, Canada.”
