USD/TRY slips below 5.67 after US’ Pompeo says some Turkey sanctions could be lifted

The United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently crossed the wires saying that some pastor-related sanctions on Turkey could be lifted. The initial market reaction to this comment boosted the TRY and the USD/TRY pair was last seen trading at 5.6675, where it was down 0.35% on the day.
