Forex Daily Outlook – May 24 2011

Home Sales in the US and the German Ifo Business Climate  are the main events lined up.  Let’s see what awaits us today.

In the US, New Home Sales measuring the number of new houses sold including prices affecting mortgage rates. A major indicator of economic conditions, 305 K is forecasted now.

Later in the US, Richmond Fed Manufacturing Index, a regional marker evaluates manufacturing conditions for the Richmond Fed District indicating industrial activity and inflation. 10 points are expected now.

More in the US, Charles I. Plosser, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s is due to deliver a speech.

Finally in the US, Dr. James Bullard President of the Federal Reserve Bank of  St.  Louis is about to deliver a speech.

In Europe, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the broad measure of the Eurozone, total value of all goods and services produced by the Eurozone. 4% Is expected on the yearly report and 1.5% on the quarterly.

More in Europe, IFO Reports, an early indicator for the next six months regarding current situations and corporate expectations, view on 7,000 leading business and management. 116.3 points is expected on IFO Expectations, 104.7 points is expected on IFO Current Assessment and 110.1 points is expected on IFO – Business Climate – all positive economic growth.

Finally in Europe, Industrial new orders, value of new contracts for goods formed by the manufacturing sector. Increasing production affects the GDP. -1.1% is now forecasted.

In Great Britain, Public Sector Net Borrowing, In the U.K., Measuring the change between spending and revenue received by the government indicating  UK’s economy condition, is expected to reduce to 4.8 billion this time.

In New Zealand, RBNZ Inflation Expectations (Reserve Bank of New Zealand) measuring business managers ´ potentials on CPI for the next 2 years. 2.6% is now expected.

In Japan, Adjusted Merchandise Trade Balance, measuring the difference in Japan goods imports and exports of not including services.  -695.6 billion is now expected.

More in Japan, BoJ Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes Bank of Japan releases the minutes from the last Monetary Policy Committee meeting where interest rate is set. The minutes provide the reasons leading to this decision.
