Following the big Brexit shock, BOE governor Mark Carney sent signals about stimulus now in July and further stimulus in August. The Bank needs to balance between providing support to the economy while not causing panic. The tools available now are a rate cut, more QE and also forward guidance. We examine the options and the implications for the pound.
