Kim Jong-un alleged to be backing hacking of cryptocurrency exchanges

  • Reports have suggested that there are a group of state-sponsored group of hackers.
  • The number doing the rounds suggesting they have managed to steal as much as $1 billion.

Kim Jong-un, North Korean leader is reported to be backing a scheme of which entails the hacking of crypto exchanges. It is suggested that the group behind this alleged hacking are known as APT 38.

The touted group are said to be very skilled trained, a state-sponsored group of bank hackers. It is said that they have managed to steal as much as $1billion from banks in order to fund its nuclear weapons program.

It is known across the industry that cryptocurrencies are generally being preferred by international criminals and also for the likes of terrorist financing. This is all subject to allegations doing the round across news wires, without substantial evidence at this time.
