AMF reported a large increase in complaints about potential crypto fraudulent activities. The regulator has already issued public warnings against 118 crypto-related businesses from March 2018. AMF, the French stock markets regulator has seen a massive a 14,000% surge in complaints relating to fraudulent crypto offers back in 2018 as opposed to 2016, according to the agency’s new annual report released May 7. Further within the report, AMF specified that the number of complaints associated with crypto-related scams that are trolling around on the internet has risen a drastically to over 2,600 in 2018 from only 18 similar complaints which were reported back in 2016. AMF detailed within their reported that they issued public warnings against 118 unethical crypto-related businesses starting from March 2018, while the overall number of warnings has accounted for 154.
