Former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis and Barcelona Mayor Ada Coalu are holding a joint event in Barcelona, ahead of a critical month in European politics: the EU Referendum in the UK and the elections in Spain.
Varoufakis, the “economist rockstar” was the protagonist of the 2015 Greek crisis and remains a prominent figure in European politics, campaigning for democracy from within, working also with the Bremain camp in the UK. Ada Colau rose to power as Barcelona’s first female mayor and also became an influential politician in Spain’s upstart Left wing party Podemos.
