Forex Daily Outlook – April 20th 2009

The forex trading week starts slowly. There are a few indicators from all over the world, but nothing really major. But as seen in previous weeks, weekend gaps can sure appear, especially in the Euro. Let’s see what’s up for today:

British  Rightmove HPI starts the Forex Week. Last time it rose by 0.9%. Is the British housing market recovering?

Australian PPI (Producer Price Index) is expected to rise by 0.6%, less than last quarter’s 1.3% rise. Australia may also be stepping into deflation.

In Japan,  BOJ Governor Masaaki Shirakawa will speak in Tokyo, and might shed some light on the situation of the Japanese economy, which is contracting at a rapid speed.

Canadian  Foreign Securities Purchases are expected to squeeze to 0.85B, after posting 10.43B last month.

In the US,  Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Charles Evans will speak at two separate occasions. Later, there’s a speech by  Federal Reserve Governor Donald Kohn.  Will they move the markets?

Also in the US,  CB Leading Index is expected to drop by 0.2% after dropping by 0.4% last time.

That’s it for today. There’s lots more in the upcming days. Do check out the Forex Weekly Outlook.

After taking a short course about forex. Like many forex traders, I've earned a significant share of my knowledge the hard way. Macroeconomics, the impact of news on the ever-moving currency markets and trading psychology have always fascinated me. Before founding Forex Crunch, I've worked as a programmer in various hi-tech companies. I have a B. Sc. in Computer Science from Ben Gurion University. Given this background, forex software has a relatively bigger share in the posts.
